Fue esposa de Pelayo, primer Rey de Oviedo, según señala la Crónica Albeldense al clasificarlo en ese lugar tras el epígrafe «Ordo gothorum regum ovetensium» (Relación de los Reyes Godos Ovetenses). La Crónica de Alfonso III, versión ad Sebastianum, menciona el matrimonio entre Pelayo y Gaudiosa. De este matrimonio nacerían Favila y Ermesinda.
